Fables in the AI Era
Understanding the Knowledge Industrial Revolution through stories. Can stories help us understand the future of humanity in the age of Artificial Intelligence?

The world is entering a period of profound transformation. Artificial Intelligence is changing education, healthcare, governance, politics, business, professional practices, and human relationships. Yet many fundamental questions remain.
Does access to information necessarily lead to knowledge? Can sophisticated machines substitute for human intelligence, experience, judgment and wisdom? How can knowledge become accessible to everyone? And how can humanity harness AI to enhance human capabilities rather than become dependent on machines?
These questions cannot always be understood through technical documents, academic theories or policy papers alone. Fables in the AI Era is an attempt to explore them through stories drawn from human experience.
The Emperor, the Schoolmaster, the Politician, the Preacher, the Healthcare Professional, and other characters encounter dilemmas that reflect the challenges of our changing world. Their experiences invite us to examine the relationships between Artificial Intelligence, Natural Intelligence, knowledge, society and civilization.
Behind these stories lie a larger set of ideas developed by Dr. Raju M. Mathew, including the Economics of Knowledge, Mathew’s Theories of Knowledge Consumption and Production Growth, Knowmatics, Dynamic Knowledge Banks, Augmented Natural Intelligence, and the Knowledge Industrial Revolution. The stories complement the theoretical and strategic work presented elsewhere on this website. Readers who wish to explore an idea further can follow the links to the corresponding concept notes, whitepapers and frameworks.
These fables are not intended to provide the final answers to every question. They invite readers to think critically, question established assumptions, discuss alternative possibilities and imagine a future in which knowledge serves humanity. The ultimate objective is to move beyond merely using AI towards building a Knowledge Civilization — one in which technology, human intelligence and systematically developed knowledge work together for human advancement.
Read the stories. Explore the ideas. Question the assumptions. Imagine the future.
